The clocks sprung forward last night, so there’s an extra hour of daylight or something. Besides the regular Monday-stuff for the onset of a new week, around lunchtime tomorrow, I will be sitting down to write my Canadian Citizenship test.
Yes, that’s right. So I can become a Canadian citizen. Finally. It’s only been about thirty-nine years.
I promise to explain it all in better detail soon, but for now, I need to hunker down and review my fifth-grade social studies material, so I can regurgitate information about how Members of Parliament are chosen, and who the Métis are, and what the Head Tax was, all with some kind of accuracy. I might even have to sing the National Anthem – you never know… it’s a good thing I was required to sing it every day as a child.
Now, watch me spectacularly fail this test.
There’s this other thing tomorrow, being March 14th – one month after Valentine’s Day – and I didn’t come up with this “holiday” but now that just about every man in my midst seems to know about it, I see no escape, really. (Don’t just take my word for it – go ahead and look it up.)
Le sigh. I suppose this means I have to get to the butcher’s shop sometime tomorrow too…
Enjoy Monday, all!!

You’ll pass it! I’ve coached four adult learners through citizen test prep, and each one of them said it was much easier than they expected. Best of luck to you, lady!
Also: steak and blowjob day? These are things my husband need not know about….

You’re an interloper and you didn’t come clean with me before this?? Well you’d better pass. I’m not going to clean my bathroom sink until you’re Canadian – and I’ll send you close-up shots of the smoodge to prove it and make you twitch. xo

Ahhh…good ole steak and BJ day…
Happy studying and best of luck with the test!!
(also – I am so thankful that this time change occurred on the weekend before March break. We get a whole week to adjust before resuming our regular routine!)
