There are days that I thankfully don’t need to be running in heels. I love the days that I can zip the kid off to the school and then enjoy a yoga class or a walk with friends.
On those days, I relish wearing my lululemon tights, sweaters and even a really comfy pair of gloves I got last winter.
Recently lululemon has made waves in online retail with their latest app. They already had two apps under their belt: the OM finder which allows you to find a yoga studio wherever you are and the SeaWheeze training app designed to be a pocket-size personal trainer for runners. The latest app is one of the first shopping apps to incorporate the new Apple Touch ID feature.
In addition, the new lululemon app gives customers the ability to set up a profile based on their lifestyle needs. The app’s easy navigation helps make purchasing decisions fast and simple. Customizable profiles give users the ability to see products that are more relevant to their interests. You can also get honest customer reviews on products and their performance details.
If you find yourself shopping at home on your main computer and need to dash out the door, no worries, you can continue your shopping experience where you’ve left off, right at the touch of your mobile device — this sounds totally like me!
How it works:
Set up your lululemon account online either through the actual website or via the app. Payment methods include credit cards, paypal or with lululemon gift cards. You don’t have to opt for the Touch ID but it’s convenient for future reference.
Why is lululemon launching this shopping app now?
“We know our guests lead busy, active lives and as part of our focus on creating the best guest experience, this app was designed with features to help guests easily access and shop our gear, regardless of where they are in their day,” says Paul Zaengle, Senior Vice President of US Retail. “Therefore, we’re really excited to be one of the first e-commerce retailers to launch an app built for iOS 8, which includes Touch ID integration, a function for iPhone only. The app is optimized for iPhone, but can be used across all three iOS devices, namely iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.”
In terms of data security, lululemon mentioned that they, and their ecommerce partners are certified by the Payment Card Industry standard. “The app has been designed with security in mind that ensures the protection of our guest’s personal credit card information and has undergone security testing at multiple levels prior to its release, and periodic testing after its release,” said Zaengle.
Lululemon launched their latest app to help continue improving the customer experience: “Creating an amazing guest experience is a huge cornerstone of what we focus on at lululemon.”
So, what can we expect to see in the future within this app? “This is the first release of the brand new lululemon shopping app, which is designed to be the fastest, most convenient way for guests to find and purchase our gear while shopping from a mobile device,” said Zaengle. “As a brand we’re focused on creating a personal guest experience and we’re actively seeking guest feedback with this first release, with the intention of incorporating it into plans for increased functionality if needed for potential future releases.”
lululemon encourages their guests to join the online discussion at heylululemon.com, the online ideation forum where guests can share their ideas directly with the design and production team to innovate, inspire and even co-create future products.
