Frozen fans, it’s time to belt out a celebratory “Let It Go.”
Walt Disney Animation studios announced Tuesday that they will be releasing a follow-up to the animated mega-hit with a short film called Frozen Forever, set to be released by spring 2015.
According to Disney’s Insider Blog, Frozen‘s original dream team is set to reunite once again for the making of the short. This includes directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, along with Oscar-winning composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the duo who gave us the sing-a-long hit “Let It Go.” And get ready, because the songwriters will be premiering a new hit song in the movie that will inevitably cause Frozen frenzy all over again.
What’s not confirmed yet is whether or not stars like Idina Menzel (I mean, Adele Dazeem) and Kristen Bell will return to their animated roles. But hey, we can’t complain. We’re just stoked this mini sequel is actually happening after producers of the flick announced they had “no plans” to make a feature length follow-up to the original.
In Frozen Forever, it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are planning what’s supposed to be the best birthday celebration ever. But once again, Elsa’s icy powers get in the way of their plans. And before you ask, YES. Olaf, aka the coolest snowman ever, will also be there.
So until that spring day, we’ll just resume to watching and singing along to every “Let It Go” cover on Youtube.
