Tomorrow we head to Florida for a week of fun in the sun. I’m excited about the much-needed R&R, but my stress levels are soaring in in preparation for all the things that have to get done before we leave. Work has to be dealt with, the house – painters are coming in while we’re gone, bills need to be paid, arrangements for the garbage to be taken out the drycleaning to be picked up. My car needs servicing plus I need to make a last minute run to the pharmacy and the Gap (I know they have everything in Florida, but I like to be prepared!).
Individually all these things are totally manageable, however en masse, it feels overwhelming. I know that once I’m on the plane, a lot of the panic will dissipate and hopefully I’ll relax.
I’m very excited about spending time with my husband, who’s been really busy at work, and to sharing this trip with my kids. I have a lot of fantastic memories of traveling with my brother and parents when we were kids, and I’m looking forward to creating new memories with my own family. My kids, 4 and 2.5, are now at an age where they get really excited about things. Also, they remember things with such enthusiasm. Going to restaurants is easier now too because my daughter is out of the baby food/highchair phase.
I’m hoping to find a computer at our hotel, and look forward to sending out my next post from Florida.
