I have a number of friends who travel to the same destination year after year or even multiple times in a year. On a recent trip to Barbados I had the opportunity to chat with the folks at Royal Westmoreland – a luxury resort and spa as well as Barbados’ only gated community – about the trend they are seeing of Canadians investing in their properties. Coincidentally we even sat next to a Canadian couple and their friends during lunch who had just signed the papers on one of the new – and spectacularly gorgeous – fractional ownership properties available there. I was surprised to learn that the great attraction for Canadians purchasing properties in Barbados was not the pristine beaches or the award winning golf courses but a much more practical consideration – safety, both personal and investment safety.

Royal Westmoreland is a high end, luxury community located just minutes from beautiful Holetown where you can find world class shopping, restaurants and beaches. If you are not yet in the market to buy, units and homes are available to rent at a range of prices. A multi-family, girlfriend or a group of couples renting one of the private homes with its own pool would be a perfect way to check out everything the area has to offer.

Barbados is a destination with every luxury a traveller could need all located on a small, tropical island. Nothing is too far away! The beaches are spectacular and the small island is known for its safety which makes it very appealing as a second home.
