Welcome to the urbanmoms.ca Kitchen Party!

August 24, 2006 by Jen

Gr4

Everyone knows that when you throw a party, it’s only a matter of time before everyone ends up congregated in the kitchen. Why is that? Because the kitchen is the heart of the home and the nerve centre of the family? Because they’re all just looking for more food and drink? Whatever the reason, the kitchen party is one of life’s givens – you just know it’s going to happen even if you don’t know why. To celebrate this most loved room, urbanmoms.ca has partnered with Cuisinart to bring you Kitchen Party, a place where all things kitchen will be discussed. Kitchen Party will be one of your favourite pages this year as your kitchen party host, Cuisinart, shares shortcuts, recipes, tooltips and more, and be sure to stay tuned for your chance to win your own kitchen party – Cuisinart will send a professional chef to your home to cook for you and some friends!

So, let’s get this party started!

Cuisinart Food Processor – urbanmoms.ca Tested and Approved!

Dfp14bcnc_heroAs you know, we never give a product the urbanmoms.ca Tested and Approved stamp without putting it through its paces with our research panel, and the Cuisinart food processor was no exception. The results? Outstanding!

This is one product where the list of “standout” features is almost too long to feature. Our testers were most thrilled by the sheer versatility of this food processor; “it slices…it dices…” no really, it does! And then some. Our panel was unanimously surprised to discover that the Cuisinart food processor can even make all kinds of dough (yes, even yeast doughs!) and with a 14-cup capacity bowl, there’s plenty of room for large (or double) recipes.

With only two buttons (ON and PULSE/OFF), this appliance is not only dummy-proof but kid-friendly as well. The blade won’t turn if the feed tube is removed so there’s no chance of getting little fingers (or big ones, for that matter) in harm’s way. Our testers’ kids loved being able to slide carrots, onions, cheese, tomatoes and more into the machine to watch them be grated, sliced, chopped or pureed.

One thing that our testers all agreed on; watch the Instructional DVD, even if you are a food processor veteran. You’ll not only learn how to properly operate your specific appliance, but you’ll learn valuable tips & tricks as well. As Allyson, one of our testers says, “If I hadn’t watched the DVD, I wouldn’t have learned one of the best features: all the pieces are dishwasher safe! It makes cleaning up some pretty serious messes so easy!” In addition to simplifying operating instructions, our panel members loved the recipes demonstrated on the DVD.

But most of all, our panel agreed that the best feature of this appliance is SIMPLICITY. It is simple to learn, simple to use, simple to clean, and most of all, it helps make your life as a busy mom simpler. So many of the delicious and nutritious recipes that used to seem too time-consuming to bother with are now easy. But don’t take it from us, here’s what our panel had to say:

“This is a product that seems to have endless uses and is not just simply great for chopping, etc.” Allyson, urbanmoms.ca Research Panel Member

“Can it be true? You sent me a genie to do about 85% of my messy food prep work for me! Thank you Cuisinart and urbanmoms.ca!” Katherine, urbanmoms.ca Research Panel Member

“Makes the BEST salsa ever!” Dave, husband to urbanmoms.ca Research Panel member
