I don’t know about you but I’ve had a few too many sugar cookies over the holidays. I’ve also had a few too many plates of leftover stuffing and a few too many croissants. Don’t forget about all the cocktails and whatnot. But no regrets. We’ve all indulged a bit and that’s okay. But now, my body is screaming at me!
I’m ready for a reset and I’ve got the constant words swirling in my head from my GP that I need to get more fruits and veggies into my system…preferably the fresh kind and over vitamin formats.
In the past couple of years, I’ve done a few short-term juice cleanses. I’m just waiting for the kids to get back to school so I can do it again. But in the meantime, I’ve asked Eliane (aka Raw Juice Guru) if she would share a recipe to give me a boost that I can do myself at home. I thought you’d might like to give 2014 a kick-start as well! Enjoy!
BEET RED JUICE
6 Carrots
1/2 Beets
4 Celery stalks
1 lemon
1/2 inch Ginger Root
Tip: You can also add leafy green to the juice to give it more power and more amino acids like spinach or kale.
Blend everything in your juice mixer and enjoy fresh!
According to Eliane, vegetables like carrots and beets are crucial to helping detoxify the body and delivering energy and nutrients not available in regular vegetables. Beet is very detoxifying for your liver and kidney that take alot of abuse daily and help them remove toxins and sludge. This drink is also amazing for your skin, bones and teeth.
