One look at the calendar, I realize my darling three-year-old will be celebrating her fourth birthday in exactly one month.
After my panic subsides,I can plan what she wishes, I book the indoor playground of desire. Once confirmed I realize that I still need to get invitations out. Inward groaning at the thought of adding the errand of packing up the kids to go to the store to pick out invitations, it strikes me that the answer is on my computer.
Two weeks ago, I was sent the latest in Microsoft land. I poked around to see what it can do for my household needs.
The answer today is Microsoft Publisher 2010!
I slide a DVD in the player in hopes to get a few minutes of peace while my girls are distracted. I click on Publisher. Quickly I find myself at the layout of a perfect template to make a 4th birthday party invitation ( Birthday Party 2). I select the default templates and upload a personal picture for the front. After typing up the time and date- I am done!
I click save and send and in thirty seconds have emailed it out to my daughters parents email boxes.
The only draw back is that I tried to send it to my husband’s computer to print on his fancy color printer but he has to have publisher as well. The only fail.
By the way, from booking the playground to sending the invites by email; all it took was ten minutes!
