Ladies, I wish I could have taken you to this very fun event this morning. It was a scavenger hunt in heels at the beautiful Bayview Village Shops in Toronto. Style media and bloggers were invited to partake in what’s “haute” for the holidays hosted by the super stylish, Melissa Evans-Lee, Marketing Director for the upscale mall. And what fun it was! Our mission was to find the items on the exclusive curated collection in the various shops. So we teamed up and had some fun all in support of Ovarian Cancer research!
Needless to say, my scavenger hunt partner, Nichole and I are waaaay competitive. And we had a blast! Although, I’m not gonna lie…we did get side tracked and wanted to shop! But with 45 minutes and 16 items we hustled!
At the end we all enjoyed brunch at Chef Claudio Aprile’s new Origin’s North. Let’s just say the breakfast tacos were delish!
But I also snuck in a moment to chat with Melissa — she’s like that BFF that you feel so relaxed with and yes, I could so go shopping with her! So, what did I want to know…I had a few quick and fun questions for her just in time for the holiday season!
Me: If you had to pick one colour of the holiday season?
Melissa: Sequined is my favourite colour for the holidays! But okay, black.
Me: Typical heels height for you?
Melissa: Three inches! I think I came out of the womb wearing heels. I don’t often wear flats.
Melissa: Oscar de la Renta, Kim Newport-Mimram at Pink Tartan, Dior and Elie Saab.
Me: What cosmetics are your must haves?
Melissa: A fabulous lipstick! Pop over to Chanel (did you see the boutique inside our Shoppers Drug Mart?) for a great red or lipgloss and by the way,
Me: What can’t you leave home without?
Melissa: Hmmm… what I CAN leave without is a purse! I’m not a purse person. I make my hubby carry everything for me. But I would say I can’t leave home without lipstick or lipgloss…but I make him carry that for me, too!
Me: Magazines or Blogs?
Melissa: Both! But in magazines I look at Chatelaine, Style at Home and House and Home.
Me: What accessories are must haves?
Melissa: Wear what you love but I love opaque tights or patterned hosiery, statement necklaces for sure! They don’t have to be expensive either.
Me: Mobile device or watch?
Melissa: No, neither! You know how I tell time? From the parking meters! And the joke in our office is that I have the least amount of minutes on my work phone!
Me: What are you asking from Santa this year?
Melissa: A crystal ball!
Look for these signs throughout the mall for the Curated Collection this holiday season! Part proceeds from the sales of the items will be donated to Ovarian Cancer research.
By the way, our family heads over to Bayview Village Shops for our visits to Santa every year! See my pic from last year? He’s awesome! I can’t wait!
