In French, doudou means “lovey” or stuffed toy – doux also means soft. The name evokes both the fun and the luxury of our product line.
Our first baby, Isabelle, had mountains and mountains of stuff. Most of the mountain was mass-market baby gear, much of it touted as a “must-have”. In reality, we found out very quickly that all a baby really needs is mama’s loving arms and our mountain grew dusty even as each new occasion made it higher.
As time wore on and our little family grew from three to four with Thomas’ arrival, I began to realize that while the stuff I needed was pretty limited, there were lovely practical things that would bring a little bit of prettiness into our harried life. I also realized that there were not a lot of places where parents and well-wishers could be assured that they were buying a really special gift for their new arrival, new mom or new sibling.
So, doudoubebe.com was born – no mass market items, no dusty mountains in the basement. We carry a limited product line of the loveliest and most functional items in their category and every order includes the best customer service you can find. Whether purchasing a gift for your own child or for a special mom or for yourself, you’re sure to find the right item to make a memory at www.doudoubebe.com.
Our parenting values are reflected in the products we stock. doudoubebe adheres to the WHO code on the Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. None of our products will undermine the breastfeeding relationship or disempower mothers in caring for their infants according to what they know is best for them. Thomas and Isabelle are our primary product testers – there is nothing on the site that they do not use themselves.
