My name is Cheryl Atkinson and I am a busy mom of 3 children The newest addition is only 8 1/2 months old. I am also the owner of my Bump Maternity situated in The Beach (in Toronto)!
While pregnant with my second daughter I was amazed that fashionable yet affordable maternity clothes still did not exist in Toronto. I had searched during pregnancy #1, forced to wear clothes that were not my style. Second time around I continued the struggle to find something that remained true to my style while pregnant. I came up empty handed and swore I would open up my own store. As the prospect of returning to work was fast approaching the idea of the maternity store continued to intrigue me and I began researching manufacturers and styles that I wanted to wear. Six months later "my Bump Maternity" was born!
Now my third child, a boy, comes to work with me and has quite the set up here at the store. I was able to wear lots of my fashions and try on many others. Having a store as one’s personal closet is a girls dream come true. The "research" proved very beneficial as I was able to critique the manufacturers and lines that I carry and have adapted my collection to carry those manufacturers who better understand an expectant moms figure.
