Yeeeaaah, Baby!
Last Week’s Weight Loss: 3.5 lbs!
Okay, so after weeks and weeks (well, okay, months really) of up-one-down-one weight gain/loss cycles, I finally broke free and shook off 3.5 pounds, putting me only 8.4 pounds away (blessedly less than ten) from my goal weight. Ahhh…what a relief to shed that burden of inertia and get the beautiful Weight Watchers mojo back.
You remember my WW mojo, right? I had it in spades last summer when I first started losing weight. I would regularly say things like, "I’m losin’ weight and lovin’ it!" and "this time I’ve been squarely in the zone for weight loss" and "I have made a lifestyle change, and I can maintain it." With insufferable smugness, to be sure. And then I lost it. For a while. Morosely, I uttered phrases along these lines: "I have officially fallen off the wagon" and "we’re in plateausville together".
Well, I’ve dawdled along for far too long now, and was just beginning to despair: was I going to make it soooooo close and not be able to pour it on and sprint to the finish line? Well, I found out on Saturday morning that I have it back – my beloved WW mojo. I weighed in with a wonderful 3.5 pound loss. Now, this is over a 2 week period (I was pigging out on a danish at the Lake Louise cafeteria during Weight Watcher’s last Saturday, remember?), but it brought be down below 165 – a personal best for me in this weight loss journey. So that 3.5 pounds means I have now lost more than fifty pounds and I’m not just gaining and losing the same few pounds over and over…I’ve actually started to make progress again.
And that’s what I call getting my mojo back. Yeeaah, baby!

Just wanted to thank you for writing your blog and sharing your journey with us!! I know you were originally inspired by the weight loss of a friend of yours– now YOU are the inspiration: I just asked my husband to lose weight with me in preparation for our October anniversary (15 years!). Thanks for sharing with us and getting us motivated to come along with you to “Loserville”!

Do you think some of it had to do with the running?? I found that my last 15lbs was so stubborn! It did not come off until I started running regularly. Whadya think?

I have looked at your blog over the last year and thought – yeah I should lose some pounds…but I run swim and I can really look that bad! I went to my first WW meeting yesterday and thought 20 pounds would be great. Now I see what I can truely do…I want 25lbs off at least (if not 30!! Thanks for your motivation!! I want to wear a 10 instead of squeezing into a 12 and seeing the muffin belly in photographs makes me crazy (especially the photos of me after running a race). Wow size small! Right now a meduim would feel great! I will keep reading….thanks!!! You look fabulous!!!
