We are so lucky to live next door to not only one of my best girlfriends, but a girlfriend who is a gifted horse trainer and has begun providing lessons for little ones. As soon as I heard Arielle was back in the saddle (pun intended) after taking time off after the birth of her last baby, I jumped at the chance to sign Karenna up to learn from her, knowing they already shared a special bond and that Arielle’s lifetime of equestrian knowledge would be an amazing gift for Karenna to experience.
It has been so wonderful, watching Karenna’s little horse-loving soul come alive a little more each week as she learns more about horses, their behavior, and all about life on the farm in general. She came home today after a lesson and basically babbled about everything she learned and did for the rest of the night and my heart burst just to see hers so very full.
If you don’t live in the Okanagan, well. That’s too bad. (For many reasons, actually. It’s basically the prettiest place on Earth.)
But if you do, and you or your kids are looking to benefit from horsemanship lessons or Animal Assisted Therapy, I cannot recommend Arielle and her program highly enough.
It is so wonderful to see our children passionate about something! Loving and understanding animals definitely helps to develop empathy. Good for Karenna!
