…or snows, if you happen (as I do) to live in Calgary.
So yes, Maggie, your first answer was the right one: I have not run in the last few days. Because – I own up to it – I am a fairweather runner. In fact, I am a fairweather EVERYTHING when it comes to being outdoors. Especially when the weather is a 4-day stretch of cold rain turning to snow.
And also especially during "crossover season", when ballet is not yet over and soccer has alread begun – when we had after-school activities every day of the week, and two on some days!
Here’s what I was busy doing on Friday evening:
Okay, so, anyway. Enough excuses right?
Here’s what I’ve done in the last few days that IS accountable…
1. I went back to Weight Watchers. I hadn’t been to a meeting since March 24th, so I was understandably nervous to go back and get weighed again. But the really good news is that I had only put on one pound in the entire five weeks. So, obviously, something has sunk in. But for me the best part is that I did actually go back, pay the money, get weighed in, etc. And I’ve been journaling and following the program since (yes, it’s only one day, but still…)
2. I went skiing with the Hubster all day today – and I do mean all day. We got on the first chairlift just after 9:00 a.m., and other than pee breaks we skied straight through until 2:00 p.m. Now, skiing is does have some built-in breaks (riding the chairlift), but it is still not bad exercise when all is said and done.
Here’s pictorial evidence that I did go out skiing today…check out the slope way behind me – "the Shoulder" at Sunshine Village in Banff. That was a first for me today! 🙂
All right, so in the spirit of accountability, and – frankly – because the weather is warm & dry again, I commit to you here that I’ll resume my 10K training program tomorrow – Monday, May 7. I’ll check in with a brief post after my run, and if you haven’t heard from me by Tuesday then have at me in the comments and help hold me accountable! Oh, and Maggie…thanks for checking in on me last week!

Really, it’s just that I got all excited when you said you were going to post everyday! 🙂 I’m WAAY impressed with the only one pound in 5 weeks thing– good for you– and it’s good to see you back!

Boy, ya: skiing. That’s odd to hear. Is it fake snow or did it snow that much? In the Red Deer area it was SLEET. Heavy, fat, freezing cold sleet, which is SO much worse than snow. It sure don’t look pretty.
Here comes the sun, do do do do, here comes the sun…

SO GLAD we are not still skiing here! Although it does look beautiful.
Congrats on the return to WW and the great results over the last 5 weeks.
