Last week I posted about my favourite thrift shop find: my kitchen dining set.
Well, this week I found myself at our local thrift shop again, this time bringing in eight full garbage bags of clothes and toys for donation. And once there, what the heck, might as well go in, right? Right.
So, in I go, poking around here and there. Bargains were in abundance. Take, for example, the Pampered Chef stoneware casserole dish for $6.99. If I didn’t already have the exact same one at home I would have jumped all over that! I know I spent at least $40 when I bought mine. Or the gorgeous vintage copy of Jack & Jill the lady in line was buying. I sooo wanted to grab my phone and snap a shot of the cover – it was worth the price of the book (under $2) just for the kitschy cover art!
But, housewares and vintage books aside, I knew I was heading out on vacation soon and I needed some stuff for lazing around at the cottage, and I found myself drawn to the women’s clothes and – inexplicably – to the shorts. Except that I don’t wear shorts. EVER. Because, you guys, my legs.
Or maybe I do?
For $6.99, I grabbed these GAP shorts and the t-shirt (which I adore) was only $5.99. All dolled up for under $15 and ready to hit the dock at the cottage next week! I love my thrift shop…

sometimes it’s like you are looking thru a garbage can but then KABAM! you find a gem or two and it’s all worth it 🙂

I know. And usually the idea of second-hand clothes is gross to me, but both items actually still had tags on them!

Lady, you look so stellar! And what a deal!! I love that chevron pattern on you… and the knot at the waist is adorable. Wear shorts every day, Kath – terrific!!

Thanks Tracey 🙂 *blushing* I actually prefer a maxi-skirt or dress for summer, but I must admit the shorts have come in handy.

I L.O.V.E. shopping at thrift shops! It does take some patience, but when you find that gem, its all worth it.
