Ever see the Baileys ad on TV with the beautiful, young people partying on the beach roasting marshmallows over a campfire when spontaneously a fiery marshmallow is dunked in a glass of cool Baileys? Well, since Baileys sponsors this section and since I am innately curious about these things, I decided to give this a try.
With two other couples staying with us over the long weekend, a fire pit down by the beach and a bottle of Baileys in the fridge, all of the pieces of the puzzle were there. Guaranteed to be fun and yummy!
I am telling you, this was hilarious! We laughed our heads off. It was not quite as beautiful as in the ad but was surprisingly delicious. The first try was a disaster…the marshmallow was pure goo and ended up sunken at the bottom of my glass of Baileys (I managed to scoop it out and eat it anyway!). The second attempt was better, although it still ended up in the bottom of the tumbler of Baileys! Eventually, after about a dozen marshmallows, we got pretty good at it. The secret is not to let the marshmallow get too hot, put it straight in the fire and dunk it as soon as it catches fire.
It has been a long time since I laughed so hard! It might not have been exactly like the TV spot but it was a blast and totally yummy too!

Dag Nabit! Left my Baily’s on the Dining Room table in the city along with the check for the lawn mowing guy. Oh Well. There’s always next weekend! LOL

We tried it too! Isn’t that hilarious that people are testing the theory?! We ended up making s’mores out of them because they got quite gooey. We scooped them out of the glass of Baileys and onto the graham cracker. Add chocolate chips and another cracker on top and you have a Baileys S’More! Yum…wish I had one now!

That is SO funny, Emily! We tried it too. It wasn’t as beautiful as in the ad, to be honest it was downright messy, but boy…was it YUMMY!

I too have always wanted to try this but my bottle of Bailey’s is usually in the city.
Maybe I’ll make a point of bringing it North this wekend!
