When the folks at Baileys offered to host a new section of urbanmoms.ca celebrating member’s memorable moments with friends, we thought the holiday season was a perfect time to launch!
It can be hard to find time to get together so we wanted to hear how you make time for Holiday Cheer with your pals. Thank you to all of the members who submitted stories. The theme this week is "Those Canadian Winters". Enjoy!
Fun in the Snow: The truth is, I don’t really like the winter. I usually hibernate, and end up seeing my friends very little during this season.
Recently, my friends decided to invite some of us out to play in this winter wonderland. I hesitated but, because I enjoy their company so much, I decided to venture out of my "shell".
We ended up having the time of our lives snow tubing down the mountain, sometimes at speeds of 80 km and hour. It was cold, but it was also so much fun. After four hours we went back to their place for rounds of Baileys spiked hot chocolate and warmed our hearts and backsides outside with a large campfire in the snow.
I can’t say I still like winter much, but the thought of doing this every year with my friends, certainly leaves me smiling!

A couple weeks back my moms group got together for a Fondue dinner sans bebe.
Lots of stories and laughs were shared. The food was fabulous, the wine was flowing and the conversation was lively. And then came the much awaited chocolate Fondue. As we indulged on the decadent chocolate and sipped on our Baileys Irish Cream something happened.
Now I can not say for sure but I could have sworn we all experienced a moment of pure silence – you know the kind you had before you had children.
