i have a confession to make. i don’t wash my face. ever.
before you turn your back on me and go running for the hills, let me explain. i inherited from my dear mother, along with my chubby thighs and my tendency to not sweat (another mini-confession…more often than not, i DON’T wear deoderant), really, really good skin. not just nice skin. we’re talking blemish-free, even skin. now, i have probably jinxed myself and might wake up tomorrow morning looking like this:
it’s not that i’m against washing your face. i think it’s a good idea. and i did try almost every recommended product. i’ve watched all the commercials and i’ve even listened to Hayden Panettiere plug her products. neutrogena deep clean cream cleanser. oil of olay foaming face wash. kiehl’s pineapple papaya facial scrub. clinique. body shop. bath and body works. cetaphil. burt’s bees. i’ve tried ’em all. and they’ve all left my skin dry and peeling. or shiny. and they’ve left me not happy. when i leave my face alone, it’s perfect. not oily. not dry. perfect. t-zone? what’s that? i don’t have one of those.
i can probably count the number of pimples i’ve had in the last decade on one hand. so, for now, i’ve chosen to leave my face alone. and let nature deal with it.
what about you? any beauty-related confessions?

You DO have the best skin. I tried to take your advice by not washing my face, and my skin got totally dehydrated….I am not so lucky!!! And, no deoderant? You don’t smell at all ever except of Bath and Body Works — your cubicle at work — in fact, the whole “pod” — smelled of it…which was a very good thing!!! 😉

I really enjoyed those Office bloopers. I’m glad to see that they find themselves as amusing as I find them. Dwight just cracks me up.
Oh, and I usually use my daughter’s diaper wipes to wash my face. It’s the moisturizing that’s critical, especially in this weather!

I only wash my face if I’m feeling exceptionally greasy or if I’ve been wearing makeup (which is next to never). On a more regular basis I do swab my face with Witch Hazel before bed, but only if I can remember.

You are very lucky…but wait 10 years!!! I have always had sensitive skin, but good skin nevertheless. So I have had to be careful with products as well – so I can’t use anything with perfumes, etc.
I just use L’Oreal Pure Zone to wash my face (or Cetaphil), then those Nivea wash cloth things, Dove toner and then Oil of Olay or L’Oreal cream. I do it both day and night – using different creams naturally. Also use eye cream at night as well. So basically, I use stuff you can buy in the drugstore.
I have made the mistake in the past of actually buying ueber $$$$ Sisley stuff and it doesn’t work any better. I love Kiehl’s though but I keep the Ultra Facial Moisturiser in my desk at work or use it when I am not wearing make up underneath.

I do wash my face but don’t use any special face products. I use moisturizer but…here’s the secret…the expensive face stuff has almost exactly the same ingredients as baby lotion! Water based, mild, etc. I use the life brand one or similar on my face.

hi ali,is that unwritten song by nellie furtado?i have great skin for an older gal.when i was younger i used water mostly sometimes mild soap.now i have to wash with something extemely mild as my skin is very sensitive and use moisturiser.i’m not above using the toddlers baby stuff on my face.hahaha

Me too! I scrub my face in the shower with just water, but besides that, nothing. I put moisturizer around my eyes, but I don’t use “face” moisturizer, just whatever is around (vaseline, baby oil, current fav: Body Shop Citrus body cream). The more I do to my skin, the worse it looks, so I just leave it alone.
