some safe neighborhood i live in.
guns! bullets! carjacking!
insane. i live in the suburbs. i live in a place where my kids play outside. and in the park. and they walk home from school. the last i heard my kids were in school. in lockdown. but i don’t know anything. no one really knows anything.
insane. this is my mall. where i work out. and get my hair cut. and buy my lululemons. i’m there every day. every single day.
wow. i’m shocked.
and i really want to hug my kids right now.
and move.
****update. all three kids have been accounted for. and hugged to death.

That’s scary and horrible. I’m glad you are all okay. But still … scary!
I’m not sure that there is a safe community anywhere. I just hug my son and hope that we are relatively safe. But, it’s sooo sooo scary – and a little too close to home.

OH! MY! GOD! Wow…what a story. I hate when scary things intrude into our safe spaces. Give your kids an extra hug, and thanks for the update that they’re home safe and sound now.

Omigosh… I just read the article you linked to. The PROMENADE!? It happened at The PROMENADE. Crazy.
HALEY-O says
Oy! Hugs!!!! I haven’t heard the details on what happened yet. I hope you’re feeling better now that the kids are home. I think you should move anyway – near me. 🙂

yeah. guess who couldn’t take their car home today because it was part of the crime scene! yup. me. and there was a rumor flying rampant that my car was shot at and had bullet holes. thankfully, that was just a rumor. it definitely made for an interesting day at work. on a funny note, this boy in my class was waiting until recess to go to the bathroom when the school went into lockdown. five minutes before recess. he says, “can i please pee in a bottle?” the poor kid was squirming in his seat for about an hour before he was allowed to go.

Yikes! That’s scary stuff. Give your kids a bunch of great big hugs when they get home!
