AWESOME! I LOVED this! Talk about DRAMA. I gotta say sorry to all the Gorgeous Rosie lovers out there because I have to hand it to Elisabeth. Rosie is one intimidating woman. And, no, I’m not saying "poor little Elisabeth." I’m saying I could NEVER stand up to Rosie O’Donell on national TV (let alone WHILE PREGGERS — Elisabeth is pregnant). NEVER. It’s not to say that I WOULDN’T. I mean, I’d do it, but I’d be a total bumbling idiot. I was so impressed that Elisabeth was so articulate and convincing and unfazed. LOVED IT! What do you think, Gorgeouses? And, OF COURSE, feel free to disagree with me!
Oh, by the way…. I’m NOT SAYING who’s side I’m on. I honestly don’t understand the argument enough to do so (I never saw the previous shows that they referred to in the clip, etc.), and I like to keep my political beliefs off this blog. I’m just saying that Elisabeth handled herself brilliantly in the face of Rosie….

The Donald ACTUALLY sided with Rosie. He said the following in an interview with Extra: "On this one I think Rosie should
win. I think anybody that’s against the war in Iraq is the winner of
the fight, because to justify the war in Iraq – only an imbecile could
do that." Ouch: Elisabeth = imbecile. Yikes.
Alicia Silverstone seems to have sided with Rosie, too….CHECK THE SNUB:
YIKES. Not very professional on Alicia’s part — totally SNUBBING Elisabeth. But, she can do no wrong after Clueless in my books….
ANGELINA JOLIE AND BRAD PITT PLANNED TO HAVE A BABY BEFORE HIS DIVORCE WAS FINAL
Here they are at the Cannes Festival looking utterly GORJ. Angelina in yellow? Perfection. And, as you know, I’m not a fan of Angelina…. I’m SO annoyed by her recent admission that she and Brad planned to conceive Shiloh before Jen and Brad’s divorce was final. LIAR! LIAR! She said, in a past interview that she would NEVER sleep with a married man, and look at her NOW! US Magazine says it best:
So much for Jolie’s onetime assertion that she would never sleep with a married man: "I could not, could not look at myself in the morning if I did that." She could, she did and less than two years later, she and Pitt have a happy home….
You know I THRIVE on catching Saint Angelina in her lies…. Anyway, the mag says Jen Aniston is coo with the news:
As for Angelina Jolie’s big admission that she and Brad Pitt planned to conceive their biological child — and did so before his divorce from Aniston was final? No biggie, says a source close to Aniston. "Jen considered herself divorced when she and Brad were separated and couldn’t care less what happened after that," says the source, adding that "Jen is not angry over the new revelation and thinks Shiloh is a cute baby."
This big admission is really no surprise, is it, Gorgeouses…. Just more publicity for a story that should have been OVAH a long time ago. YO, ANGE! NOBODY CARES! YOU’RE A HOMEWRECKER — WE GET THAT! Moving on.

What did you think of the show last night? I thought it was the BEST American Idol finale results night EVAH. Gwen Stefani was FAB, Gladys Knight was perfection, the bush monkey tribute was AWESOME (not to mention both hysterical and beautifully respectful to bush monkeys. LOVE!) I enjoyed the whole thing. Except Smokey Robinson and Tony Bennett — for some reason they bored me to near-unconsciousness. Blake and Doug E. Fresh? AWESOME! Sanjaya? Cracked me right up!

So I watched the finale of LOST last night. I’m not a regular watcher of the show. But, I was HOOKED. It was awesome. Regular LOST watchers, what did you think? How sad are you that Charlie (that is his name, right?) is GONE! That we had to watch him drown…!
And, I SO LIKED HIM!!!!!!!!!! How GORJ was Evangeline Lilly CLEAN and IN MAKEUP in that final seen with Matthew Fox?

Wow! the rosie/elisabeth thing. What I love about american television is that everyone is once again missing the point. Rosie’s comment wasn’t about the troops, it was about the iraqis and the effect of american foreign policy. Did the US lose as many civilians on sept 11th? Like Tricia, my mom told me something that applies here, “How would that make you feel.. try to put yourself in their shoes.” I’m sure they feel awful “liberated”.. free from life!
oh lost is like my fave show.how could i forget to post about season finale?so sad about charlie.especially after seeing penny and know that boat not hers.so he hasnt actually helped like he thought he was.and kate and jack in the future.wow who knew?and ben is a evil man.glad that danielle and her daughter alex are back together.and how is desmond going to get out of there?

not taking a political stance at all here (you don’t want to get me started. i’m the product of a hardcore democrat and a hardcore republican. a bush hater and a bush lover) but i think Elisabeth was in the wrong in this particular situation.
all rosie was asking her was to back her up and say that she doesn’t think that the troops are terrorists. instead of just admitting that, she went off on Rosie about politics. i don’t blame Rosie for being upset and hurt over this. sure, they fall on different sides politically, but first and foremost, They were friends.
looking at the comments, i guess that’s what Jodi and Jen were saying as well.
Loved the Lost finale too! Soooo bummed about the flash forward though. I so want Jack to be happy and adjusted in the future, not self distructive and needing to get back to the island. I don’t even want to think about where this was headed. Not at all surprised that Charlie was killed off though.
And The Office — what did you think of that finale? I know, I’m a couple of weeks behind here. Politicking in MB is finale over for a while…thankfully! At least Kara did beautifully hanging out in the office on and off for four weeks. She made a tonne of friends!
Okay, I have to admit I had a crazy, long response to Haley’s column & some of the comments, but I deleted it because I wasn’t quite sure this was the right venue for for me to go off on GW’s “policies”. I have to totally & whole-heartedly agree with Kim’s statement. Wonderfully written & something we should all think about. The one thing I keep coming back to on this is something my mother would say to me when I was a teenager. “If your friends all jumped off of a bridge, would you too?” Just because my friends were doing it didn’t make it right, & just because a leader of a country is doing it (or asking us to agree & go along with it), doesn’t make it right either. Mom’s really do have the best advice & frankly in the end know what’s right!!!!!
As far as Rosie & Elizabeth, I feel very sorry for them both being in this situation where they may ruin their friendship because of their jobs. They are paid to speak their minds (not necessarily the facts…eventhough both of them profess to have ALL of the facts) & they have done a wonderful job of bringing women to the forefront of political/social commentary. If this was 2 men, it wouldn’t have even registered as a blip!!! Instead its a catfight, & that is just sad. I wish it hadn’t become personal for them, but I truly understand how it would be hard not to. BTW, excellent link Jodi, very good analysis of the reason for the blow-up.
Okay, enough of that!! Have to put my 2 cents in about Lost. I am a VERY loyal watcher of this show, even though they have pissed me off royally this season.
1. So upset about Charlie dying. Just watch out Lost fans, when your fav character finally redeems him/herself, they will kill him/her off. There is no other reason. Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia (ok not e1 fav), Libby, etc. Its like the writers know nothing else to do with these characters, once they turn their lives around, other than kill them!! My advice to the Losties. DON”T redeem yourself. DON’T become good. YOU. WILL. DIE.
2. I don’t want to see a flash forward!!! I don’t want to know if they get off of the island until May of 2010 (when the show ends). Especially if they are going to give us crap like Jack being awful & having nothing. Exactly what do I have to look forward to???
3. Ben is evil. Don’t try to turn the universe around & make him the good guy. Won’t work. I’m not buying it.

KIM — I think that’s a very good strategy for analyzing the situation. …Which is why I myself don’t “side”. Because I’d have to put in more time and effort than I have right now to examine all sides thoroughly — because it’s such a serious and delicate issue.
As citizens of an ever smaller global village, I believe we need to consider unquestioning obedience to an office/country to be an outdated value. In the 21st century it’s dangerous to profess 100% obedience to someone just because of the office they hold. Consider ALL SIDES of the situation, and then, if you still support the war because you believe it is the right thing to do in light of ALL the information out there, including opinions you might not like, you have made the right decision.
DREA — I appreciate your voicing your opinion! I’m going to keep absolutely mum, though. 🙂 I hope you’re feeling okay — sounds like a rough night!!!
JEN — Jen, Jen!! 🙂 I don’t know Elisabeth enough to know if she’s actually smart. I’d just never seen this smart, articulate, assertive side of her. I was amazed. I’m not saying Rosie had the “upper hand” at all. I was saying I find her very intimidating — and that I wouldn’t want to fight her, particularly because she’s a great and practiced public fighter with very strong views. Again, I’m not taking sides on this argument because I don’t have all the facts straight. Performance-wise, though, I was simply amazed that Elisabeth had any chutzpah at all. I did not know that.
And, I think the Angelina thing is more than semantics. But, I’m biased. Me no likey. And, me no giving her any breaks on this one — or any other relationships she’s busted.
JODI — I thought about you when I was mentioning “my gorgeous Rosie lovers”! Partly because your GORJ, and partly because I know you love Rosie. Thanks for the link. I’ll check it out. Honestly, nothing against Rosie at all. I think she deals with A LOT of flack from the media, as Jen pointed out. And, I just think she’s incredibly strong. I could never fight her! That’s all I was really talking about. Not taking sides at all. But, I DO see Jen’s point about the friendship being at stake, etc..

TUGGY — I know your political views. So, I’m so not surprised whose side you’re on. It’s very interesting, this. I’ve never even cared about The View. But, this feud is total drama!!!

Oh, man. I have to disagree on this one. Since when does a loud mouthed, fat, lesbian have the upper hand?! Elisabeth is the stereotypical girl next door. Devout Christian married to a football hero with the political views to match. Rosie gets massacred by the media almost to the point of abuse for presenting an opposing political view.
This debate is much more about the friendship between Elisabeth and Rosie. Elisabeth had a chance to set things straight and clarify the miscommunication surrounding Rosie’s comment. She chose to use it as a platform for her own political views.
I am not fooled by Elisabeth’s blonde apple-pie persona. This girl is smart and in my opinion she used the circumstances to her advantage with little regard for her friend.
As for Angelina, this is a matter of symantics. If Jen felt they were divorced at this time then why can’t Ange? I am not “team Jen” or “team Ange” but if they can agree it was over at that point, why can’t we? Let’s give Ange a break on this one. We can always twist something to make it fit if we want to badly enough.

Hi Haley 🙂 speaking of preggers, I hope your doing well! I had no clue Elisabeth was even pregnant again.. she is SO beautiful! I remember when she was pregnant the 1st time. To adorable.
As far as the Rosie fued. I never have time to watch the view since the birth of Taite 🙂 so I dont really know how exactly all this started… What I do know is I am on Elisabeths side. I support Bush and the troops 100%. I had a dear friend who lost her husband in Iraq after the birth of her daughter … He never got to hold his daughter or kiss his sweet wife after the birth… Yet my friend SUPPORTS this country.. as should everyone else.
I believe the reason people FIGHT so much and the reason things have gotten so bad in so many areas is because people do nothing but feud over EVERYTHING. Bush is our President… maybe not for much longer.. but for us to turn out back on the leader of the this country will do no good…

Yes. Do I believe there have been some mistakes.. yes… but I believe had we not done something it would of gotten even worst.
