*burp*
This is my Full English Breakfast from yesterday morning:
That’s two eggs (fried), 2 rashers of bacon (which, incidentally, tastes MUCH better than our kind of bacon…it’s thicker, like back bacon almost), 2 bangers (sausages), 3 hashbrowns, a baked tomato and yes, brown beans. Oh! And 2 pieces of toast! Blurg…
I wish to go on record that I was not able to eat it all, but I did enjoy what I ate!
Needless to say, lunch wasn’t on order after that breakfast.
I drove to Canterbury with my sister, and after wandering around in the cold and rain, we went to Costa for a hot chocolate to warm up after touring the Cathedral, and I had to try this:
It’s called caramel shortbread. It’s a piece of buttery shortbread, with creamy soft caramel and a topping of milk chocolate. We shared it, and YUM!
We ate a salad for dinner, which is pretty universal, so no pictures.
Today I decided I had to try "cream tea", which is a light & airy scone, fresh from the oven and served with jam & clotted cream (like whipped cream, only not quite whipped all the way). Accompanied, of course, by tea (which has the milk added already).
By the way, I didn’t eat all three – there were 3 of us; we each had one. Here I am enjoying (read: wolfing down) mine:
All of this was followed up by dinner from the Chippy:
That’s chips and a cheese & onion pasty.
It’s all really good, but I might get rickets or scurvy or something if I don’t find some fruits and vegetables soon!

Yes, I remember a 2 week trip to England a few years ago and the ubiquitous “chips” with EVERYTHING!! Curry and chips, fish and chips, chips and chips…by the time we got home, all I craved was something green!! Oh, and didn’t want to see a pint for a very long time (they drink a lot over there too!!).

The only thing I would disagree about is the bacon. I’m not a back bacon kinda gal so really thought it paled compared to the thin, crispy stuff I’m used to. But OMG the CHIPPY!!
