More than 10,000 fashion industry influencers, design and style experts, and fashion lovers were invited recently to preview the finalists of the ART OF FASHION 2012 RAW Design Competion. Emerging Canadian designers featured their inspirations in a competition that was an overwhelming success resulting in a three-way tie!!!
AMY YUEN and her collection SIX ELEMENTS won the People’s Choice Award as voted by event attendees.
RYAN JOELSON and his collection Rough Hewn won the title Canada’s Most Promising Designer.
And an additional award was given to ANOUK MORAN and her collection the Resplendent Warrior – the Most Promising Designer Runner-up.
All three winning designers will be receiving funding and professional assistance including grants, fashion industry memberships, marketing and publicity support.
To coincide with TORONTO FASHION WEEK the public is invited to view the competition collection at an exhibit located at Metro Hall, from October 19th to 26th. Guests can see the interactive display in the Rotunda at Metro Hall at the corners of King and John, and Wellington and John Streets downtown.
