While the music was great, the dresses and jumpsuits were better. The 2015 Grammy Awards were a night of fun and fearless fashion with the red carpet stealing the spotlight, like Kanye West storming the stage when somebody else wins an award.
Celebrity moms wouldn’t be outdone by starlets like Rihanna and Ariana Grande. While, some (mostly just Madonna) took things way too far, basically everybody looked amazing, showing up dressed to the nines in the likes of Tom Ford and Jimmy Choo.
Here are the 10 best dressed moms from the 2015 Grammy Awards.
Beyonce
Beyonce eliminated all pregnancy rumours in her waist hugging Proenza Schouler dress. Later in the night, she traded in the dress for a white gospel-tinted performance gown. The dress was sheer enough that it showed off her out of this world hourglass figure.
Nicole Kidman was a little bothered by the fashion chat on the red carpet. She was upset nobody asked her about her recent charity trip during her rare appearance at the award show with her husband Keith Urban. Regardless, she looked great, dressed in a long-sleeved black mini dress. The encrusted jewels really spiced the dress up.
A lot of people on social media were confused as to why Gwyneth Patrlow was chosen to introduce a civil rights inspired performance. It led to a ton of Patlrow bashing on Twitter. However, Gwyneth was on her best behaviour. She didn’t do or say anything offensive or weird—not a single mention of steaming your vagina or anything even slightly GOOP-y. She looked great with natural hair, in her ruby red mini-dress.
Jennifer Hudson wore a strapless, white Tom Ford dress. She went the minimal route on with her jewelry as well. Her bright purple lips added just enough colour and prevented the look from getting too “bride-ish.”
Ciara’s Alexandre Vauthier dress was definitely a risky look that paid off. Even though Ciara’s dress was a little over the top, her legs still stole the show.
Gwen Stefani proclaimed her Atelier Versace “art” on the red carpet. The non-traditional jumpsuit and bedazzled pumps helped Stefani standout in a sea of dresses.
Jane Fonda selected an emerald green jumpsuit with a plunging neckline. Instead of baring cleavage, Jane covered her chest with a golden neck piece. Fonda looked anything but 77. Those Jane Fonda workouts definitely paid off.
The classic and conservative black dress was gorgeous, but not as gorgeous as her show stealing cover of “I Put a Spell on You.”
A lot of people said Kim Kardashian’s dress looked like a bathrobe. However, the Jean Paul Gaultier dress really showed her evolution of style. Kim has come a long way from her tight latex dresses and full Juicy Couture sweatsuits… Maybe hubby Kanye’s outfit was an ever so slight nod to his wife’s past fashion faux pas!
Jhene Aiko’s elegant flowery bustier top and chiffon bottom was a fab selection. The pale nude Alberta Ferretti was the perfect mix of sexy and classy.
