Fraser’s brother’s artwork- on top of the world art studio for children
Sometimes(almost always) I wish I had an eight year old boy
Other times I wish I was an eight year old boy.
I am not kidding one bit.
I got a call from my good pal Fraser, Thursday night about 9 pm.
“Nancy, I want to talk to you about my vision.
I want to do the earth on a canvas, and then do a sculpture of myself on it – like I am on top of the world.
We will use loads of colour and make it somewhat abstract”
Fraser, 8 years old, comes to me in my home studio every week and blows me out of the water with his curiousity, excitement about art and beautiful and unique way of explaining things.
I went to his house yesterday and did his art birthday party.
He got up in front of his friends and shared his vision.
He turned to me at one point and said “Nancy, is it ok if my art is in the FAUVISM mouvement (we have been studying this for the last 2 weeks)? In other words- (and he turns to his friends with pride)- like a “wild beast”- using colours we are not supposed to?”
“Oh yes Fraser. This is art, not science. Go crazy.”
and this is what he did
