David Mirvish unveils a bold and exciting opportunity for theatre lovers.  OFF-MIRVISH, The Second Stage Series, offers a series of acclaimed productions of award-winning international new plays and original productions from the local and world stage. 

“The Toronto theatre community is one of the most vibrant in the world,” says Mirvish.  
“The wealth and breadth of talent here is astonishing. For a long time, we have been looking at ways to celebrate this community and to bring its work to a larger audience. That’s why we have started the Off-Mirvish Series.”
“The shows in our first season all share a commitment to artistic excellence, and an exploration of language, action and ideas that will be challenging, innovative and provocative. But they are also highly entertaining.”
Four productions have been announced for the inaugural season..

Starring Maev Beaty, Ava Jane Markus, Adam Wilson
Tells three interwoven stories set in contemporary Ireland all told in heightened language and in rhyming verse will be performed at the historical Royal Alexandra Theatre for an audience of 200. Audience will view the production  looking outward to the theatre seats while the action of the play will happen at the edge of the stage.


Written by and starring Anthony Rapp
Directed by Steve Maler
One of the original stars of RENT, Anthony Rapp, uses the backstory of this musical to launch into a very personal exploration of love and loss. Accompanied by a five-member band, Rapp’s performance has won accolades at the recent Edinburgh Fringe Festival and then saw a sold-out run in London.

Starring Audrey Dwyer, Michael Healey, Sterling Jarvis, Jeff Lillico, Mark McGrinder, Kimwun Perehinec, Maria Ricossa.

Canadian comedian, Mary Walsh, has created a new show that incorporates all the characters she has played over the years including the infamous warrior princess, Marg Delahunty, with her razor sharp wit. 
The Off-Mirvish four-show series package is now on sale from $99-$199. Productions will be held at the Royal Alexandra Theatre or the Panasonic Theatre.
