During my university days I lived with a great group of girls. We were always there for one another, and in times of heartbreak we’d all dress down in sweat pants and head to the amazing bakery down the street. We’d each choose a dessert and bring it back to our house, where we’d eat it out of the box while watching Golden Girls. Fine times indeed.

Now decades later, at the end of a long day I still have the urge for a little sweetness. It reminds me of days when a piece of cheesecake and Sophia Petrillo could solve all of my problems. Sometimes I feel like a chocolate raspberry cheesecake, and sometimes I choose strawberry shortcake. Sometimes it’s apple or key lime pie.

But sometimes I just can’t decide and I want a taste of all four…and if I actually gave in to my wants I’d split my sweat pants and not even Dorothy Zbornak could solve my problems.

Dessert Bites - Choc. Rasp. Cheesecake.jpg

Introducing Allan Candy’s new Dessert Bites.
Available now in grocery stores across Canada, Dessert Bites are a brand new soft and chewy candy combined with a creamy coating in four dessert-inspired flavours that taste just like your favourites!
They’re conveniently packaged for on-the-go indulgence in 200-gram resealable bags (retailing for $3.99). That means I can keep these little bite-sized morsels on hand for those moments when I need a little burst of dessert; in my bottom desk drawer, in the highest kitchen cupboard, in my glove compartment.
The entire family had a little taste test and we decided that we all enjoyed the Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake flavour best. After that we were split. My daughter loved the sweetness of the Strawberry Shortcake, and my son liked how authentic the Apple Pie tasted. I liked the tartness of the Key Lime Pie.
I love the idea that everyone deserves a little dessert. Now we can all have it!
Trend Watch is written by me; all opinions are my own. It is not sponsored.  I was given a free sample of Allan’s Dessert Bites, but I was not compensated for my review.
