Ooh, the Funny!

I’ll come right out and tell y’all: for the past few days I’ve been dealing with somewhat of a crisis on the home front, and – being the mom and all (and a single mom at that) – I’ve worn myself pretty thin, both physically and emotionally. Colleagues have commented on my exhausted look and general lack of pep; friends too, and even random acquaintances. Heck, one of my students asked me the other day if I had forgotten to put on makeup (I hadn’t, for the record).
So that’s me this week. Exhausted. Worn out. Done.
And yet, as tempting as it is sometimes to wallow in our own particular problems, we must eventually take the advice of a very wise (if also very forgetful) blue fish, and “just keep swimming, just keep swimming.” For if we don’t, we will surely drown.
So this evening, as I sat down to compose this post, I decided to trawl the net (do you like the little nautical metaphor thing I’ve got going on?) for something funny. To cheer me up and put a smile back on this worried mug of mine.
And guess what? I found a lot of funny out there. And I thought to myself, “what’s better than sharing something funny with a friend?” So here you go…I hope you get a few giggles from them too.

LOVE the cooking and cleaning one. It definitely rings true! Sometimes when I need a stress reliever or a smile I head to damnyouautocorrect.com. And often I end of in a room alone laughing my guts out. Therapy 🙂
